Join pre-parade festivities from 12pm-2pm on November 1 at Arté de la Mano Aveda Salon, 3600 NM Hwy 528. Guests can enjoy face painting and refreshments prior to attending the parade.

“Día de Los Muertos is a time for us to gather and celebrate life by remembering and honoring the loved ones we have lost. It is also a perfect opportunity to give back to the communities we live in. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the children when they receive a stuffed animal reminds us that every day is about living. What better way to honor our dead?” owner Monica M’Danat shares. “We support several community wide events each year to foster community and bring the focus back to healing ourselves and the earth.”

If they bring in 10 items, they get a certificate worth $10,” says High Desert Art & Frame’s owner, Teri Winfield. “This effort to help Roadrunner Foodbank feed more Albuquerqueans in need, especially at the holidays, is part of our philosophy of giving back to the community.” High Desert Art & Frame frequently donates to local charity auctions and holds fundraisers in the store. In addition, Winfield serves on the board of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates).

Melody Wattenbarger, president and CEO of Roadrunner Food Bank said, “Thank you High Desert for hosting a food drive for us. Community support is vital in our work and we are so pleased organizations such as High Desert take the time to support our work in helping the hungry in our state.”

The most needed items, according to Roadrunner Foodbank are:
•	Macaroni & Cheese
•	Canned Vegetables
•	Canned Fruits
•	Canned Meats
•	Canned Entrees
•	Cereal Bars
•	Rice
•	Sugar
•	Pastas
•	Soups
•	Baby Foods
•	Boxed Meals

High Desert Art & Frame provides custom picture and memorabilia framing, with over 1500 custom frames, 1700 acid-free mats, and computerized mat cutting. The company offers “art health checkups” - examining your framed artwork to determine if your artwork is properly preserved, and that conditions don’t exist that could actually decrease its value.

High Desert Art & Frame is one of only a handful of framing shops in Albuquerque with a Certified Picture FramerÒ (Professional Picture Framers Association) on staff, ensuring you’ll be guided through matting, frame molding and design selections for presenting, protecting and preserving artwork and valuable items. The store also displays and sells the works of local and regional artists, as well as examples of memorabilia that are not for sale.

For information or interviews, contact Teri Winfield, 505-265-4066, or visit www.highdesertartandframe.com. In this group class you will learn:
•	How to think outside the box of your traditional shopping patterns to find chic, unique fashion choices.
•	To plan for your purchases instead of just hunting for the latest, greatest and cheapest.
•	What it takes to be fashion savvy and bargain happy in a city without much fashion selection.
•	How not to fall victim to fads and trends that cost you more (disposable fashion)
•	To look for inexpensive (but quality) options for your working wardrobe.

Classes are limited to ten participants and fill fast so enroll asap.
Back in the day when we had money to burn most of us threw out or donated clothes that had rips, holes or stains. We wasted a lot of money and some really great fashion. It’s time to be green about your clothing inventory. In this informative and fun class you will learn to:
•	Edit and process the clothes in your closet that need TLC.
•	Take another look at styles that no longer fit you and discover how to make them work.
•	Create brand new styles from some of your old classics.
•	Work with your tailor to shorten, lengthen, widen or shrink those clothes you have long sidelined.
•	Let go the emotional hold you have on favorite styles that really no longer fit, flatter or shape you.
