'Remembering Century 21 Workshop: a Community History Project' at the Central Library

Summary: The Museum of History and Industry presents a free introductory workshop to review the history of Seattle's 1962 World's Fair and teach you the basic historic research skills needed to explore Century 21 memories, souvenirs and legacies. Anyone interested in researching Century 21 is welcome to attend.
Full Description: In the spirit of the 50th anniversary of Century 21, MOHAI invites you to explore the memories, memorabilia and myths of Seattle's 1962 World's Fair through a series of free community-wide workshops. Co-hosted by The Seattle Public Library, King County Library System and the Seattle Center Foundation, this series of workshops and seminars will teach you the skills needed to discover, document, and distribute the fascinating histories of one of Seattle’s most influential events through the use of personal experiences and collections., Introductory workshops review the basic history of the Fair, and introduce participants to the historical research skills needed to explore Century 21 memories, souvenirs and legacies. Follow-up seminars will guide you in developing a research project and introduce you to other Century 21 enthusiasts, with the goal of creating a project that can be shared with and celebrated by the community at our closing summit, scheduled for Saturday, September 29, 2012.
