You are welcomed to come as early as 11:15am We invite the UWB campus to come and witness a final performance showcase for “Performing Diaspora.” On 3/9/17 our UW2 Dance Studio classroom will be transformed into a stage for performance actions, movements, and participatory projects to come alive! Please join the students of BISIA 383B in this special 90 minute public presentation of their final performances. OPEN STUDIO features “Pound of Flesh” by Kevin Hwang & Kelsey Carroll “Diasporic Perils” by Wayee Tang, Anhton Duong, Qiutong Way, Ivy Vu, Miriam Mnyuku “Thought Color” by Adam Ali, Kei Chibazakura, Trieu Nguyen, Song Huynh “Invisible” by Sarai Moran-Arenas, Jun Liu, Sihui Ke, Xinru Lian, Mengting Lin, Jitao Bian “Divided America” by Taylor Moore “Freaks of Nature in Da Wild” by Jamal Howard, Amanda Olegario, Abrianna Bell-Towne, Lacey Ihler, Wajeeha Ahmad, Kaylee Turner These performances are creative responses to students’ attendance of the following live events: a Jewish Sabbath at the Bellevue Synagogue, “Border Doors” exhibition at Mobius Hall in Cascadia College, “reset” arts-share dance series by the Washington Ensemble Theater, “Those Who Remain” Improvisation at Asian Art Museum, Arthaus 3.0: Broken Hearts Club Drag Queens show, and “Shot” by the Seattle Repertory Theater. .
