Have you ever wondered if cell phones have been good or bad for society? What about whether or not religion should have space in public institutions? If you answered yes to either question or are unsure about what they fully mean then you should join Debate Society, Law Society, and Consciousness Club as we facilitate a public forum on these controversial topics! Free food provided! Student advocates (people actively debating for or against one or both of the topics) will have two minutes to speak, as the conversation goes back and forth between individuals for or against the topics. Please RSVP, especially if you would like to be an advocate! What it means to be an advocate: debaters will be seated in groups next to each other. One for those affirming the topic, the other side against the topic. The conversation will begin with a speaker for one of the topics and then go back and forth between the two sides. Each speaker will receive two minutes to converse. The first hour will be dedicated to the cell phone resolution and the second hour will be for the religion resolution. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to send an email to natecblanchard@gmail.com.
