SummaryJoin us for a book group at the Fremont Branch. Everyone is welcome. This month’s title is "The Last Brother" by Nathacha Appanah.
Book DescriptionDavid is Jewish and orphaned, marooned behind barbed wire in Mauritius, having fled the Nazi invasion of Czechoslovakia only to be turned away by British-run Palestine. Local boy Raj doesn't even know there's a war on. However, he knows the violence meted out by his abusive father. The two boys’ lives come together in a prison hospital and, without a common language, an unlikely bond forms between them.
