The newest installation by Zehra Khan and Tim Winn, two well-known installation artists and current artists-in residence at Cape Cod Community College, is currently taking place in Higgins Art Gallery and students as well as members of the general public are being asked to participate in the creation. Using drawing on paper as its primary medium, Pandas vs. Skunks: A Civil War Story is a site specific multi-media installation illustrating, with humor, a contemporary civil war reenactment with animal characters. The final project opens February 16th with a gallery reception and will include costumed participants and documentary photographs of a live performance. Cahoon Museum Exhibition - Reawakenings: Emerging from Winter into Spring

Some years the shift from winter into spring is very dramatic and some years it is very slow and subtle. This exhibition "Reawakenings: Emerging from Winter into Spring" at the Cahoon Museum of American Art will look at how artists portray the change from winter into spring in both rural and city settings.

Each year the Cahoon Museum of American Art starts the exhibition schedule with a benefit exhibition. All works are for sale and this year a portion of the proceeds will go to the Barnstable Land Trust. The Barnstable Land Trust is dedicated to preserving the open spaces and natural resources of the Town of Barnstable. Barnstable Land Trust holds wildlife habitat, scenic views, wetlands, sensitive watershed parcels, forests and other valuable open space, in its natural state, in perpetuity for the benefit of the community.

As primarily a printmaker and experimenter, she brings to her workshops an energy and freshness Her classes are known for the passion and enthusiasm she shows for artists of all ages and abilities. A staunch arts advocate and organizer, she has served as appointee on the Napa Mayor’s Round Table for the Arts, as well as chaired the Napa Valley Arts and Culture Alliance. On Cape, she has taught classes at the Chatham Fine Arts Center, The Cultural Center of Cape Cod, and provided Artist Studio workshops for PAAM. Educated at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a degree in Marketing (Art minor), her design creations and products have been widely marketed to the National Parks in the US and Canada since1984.
