Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street celebrates the historical roots of the Town of Eau Gallie (1887-1969) by hosting its Second Annual Founder’s Day Fish Fry on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from noon to 5 p.m., in the Eau Gallie Square (Highland Ave. and Eau Gallie Blvd.). Activities will include:

· Fried Fish Dinner $10 (Children’s Chicken $7) & Beverage Tent: Beer, Soda, Water

· Live Bands: Mark Baker & Friends, Matt Sams Band, Ernie Southern & the Deltaholics

· Mini-Fun Run, Noon-1pm

· History Tent: Vintage photos of the Town of Eau Gallie

· Vintage Vehicles

· And much more family fun along historic Highland Avenue.

Except for the purchase of food, the Founder’s Day Fish Fry is free and open to the public.

The Founder’s Day Fish Fry is a revival of the town’s historic celebration of George Washington’s Birthday from the 1920s-50s. Sponsorships are available from $125 – $2,500 and plans are underway to celebrate Eau Gallie’s history with food, live music and entertainment for everyone.

The Eau Gallie Arts District Main Street focus is to revitalize and advance the historic, cultural and arts embodied in the neighborhood. Eau Gallie was annexed into the city of Melbourne in 1969, but maintains its identity with a thriving arts district, which sponsors monthly art walks, farmers’ markets, art festivals, and the EGAD Outdoor Mural Museum featuring five large murals on buildings throughout the district. The EGAD! Main Street is in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The district is anchored by the Foosaner Art Museum and the Historic Rossetter House Museum which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
