About the Instructor
Shaun English is a Registered Yoga Teacher through the Yoga Alliance. She is certified through Itsy Bitsy Yoga International to facilitate the yoga experience for caregivers and babies. Shaun completed formal teacher training with Baron Baptiste and Ana Forrest (2006). Experiencing yoga was her year 2000 resolution, one of the few she has joyfully maintained. Shaun’s Itsy Bitsy Yoga classes combine practical poses moms do with the babies, abdominals for the moms, and opportunities for connection with other moms. The Watermark at East Hill will host National Memory Screening Day on Tuesday, November 17 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the second floor Commons. This collaborative effort, spearheaded by the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, aims to promote early detection of Alzheimer's disease and related illnesses, and to encourage appropriate intervention. The face-to-face screening is fast and easy and will take 15 minutes or less. Proper diagnosis is critical since some conditions that affect memory, such as thyroid problems, are reversible. For irreversible illnesses, proper diagnosis enables individuals to obtain medical treatments and social services that they need, as well as have input into legal and financial decisions regarding treatment that can improve their quality of life. New Haven, CT – The Clifford Beers Clinic will celebrate almost 100 years of providing mental health services for the Greater New Haven community at its 96th Anniversary Gala on Friday, November 20th at 6 pm at the Shubert Theater. Highlights of the evening include: entertainment by Emmy-award winning comedian Margaret Smith and the premiere of the Clinic’s video The Healing Power of Hope produced by Emmy-award winners Karyl Evans and Diane Smith. Guests will enjoy the Clinic’s signature Silent and Live Auctions, a strolling supper, and the presentation of the 2009 Clifford W. Beers Awards.

The Clifford Beers Clinic is pleased to present the 2009 Clifford W. Beers Recognition Award to Jimmy Miller and the Clifford W. Beers “Kids Are Our Business” Service Award to Roxanne J. Coady, RJ Julia Booksellers, and Read to Grow.

The funds raised at the Gala will benefit the Morris A. Wessel Child and Family Trauma Center at the Clinic. The Trauma Center is named after Morris A. Wessel, MD, a retired pediatrician, author, researcher, and professor who spent his career as a leader in providing community based services. The Wessel Trauma Center offers innovative and compassionate care for children and their families dealing with trauma including sexual abuse, domestic violence and traumatic loss.
