		<content type="html">Sunday, May 19, 2013, 9am&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash;&amp;nbsp;5pm &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;A joint exhibition, &amp;quot;Experiencing Algonquin&amp;quot; is meant to convey Barbara Simpson&amp;#8217;s impressions of the rugged beauty of Algonquin with its diversity of habitat and wildlife. &amp;quot;Algonquin Palette&amp;quot; by Vera Penrose, Susan Sydney and Ron Ward, members of the Kawartha Artists&amp;#8217; Gallery &amp;amp; Studio Outdoor Painters&amp;#8217; Group hope to awaken lasting memories of your visit. Algonquin Park visitors are treated to an ever changing palette of colours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre&amp;#8217;s Algonquin Room presents six different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. 		<content type="html">Wednesday, May 22, 2013, 9am&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash;&amp;nbsp;5pm &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;A joint exhibition, &amp;quot;Experiencing Algonquin&amp;quot; is meant to convey Barbara Simpson&amp;#8217;s impressions of the rugged beauty of Algonquin with its diversity of habitat and wildlife. &amp;quot;Algonquin Palette&amp;quot; by Vera Penrose, Susan Sydney and Ron Ward, members of the Kawartha Artists&amp;#8217; Gallery &amp;amp; Studio Outdoor Painters&amp;#8217; Group hope to awaken lasting memories of your visit. Algonquin Park visitors are treated to an ever changing palette of colours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre&amp;#8217;s Algonquin Room presents six different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. 		<title type="text">Wildlife Research Weekend 2013</title>
		<content type="html">Wildlife Research Station, Algonquin Park &lt;br/&gt;Friday, May 24, 4pm&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash; Sunday, May 26, 2013, 6:30pm &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Join this exciting workshop and accompany wildlife researchers into the field as they attempt to unravel the mysteries of the plants and animals of Algonquin Park. Experience first-hand the science behind wildlife research as you explore techniques used in both field and remote laboratory settings. Limited to just 12 participants.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; See images of past &lt;a href="http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=178915&amp;id=169395331567" target="_blank"&gt;Wildlife Weekend Workshops&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; The workshop includes: &lt;ul&gt; &lt;li&gt; 		Meals and accommodations at the historic &lt;a href="http://www.algonquinwrs.ca/" target="_blank"&gt;Wildlife Research Station&lt;/a&gt;. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 		A unique opportunity to interact with leading wildlife researchers and gain expert instruction on field techniques, such as trapping, banding and DNA sampling. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt; 		A close encounter with Algonquin&amp;#8217;s wildlife species including small mammals, birds, turtles and much more. &lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ABOUT THE WILDLIFE RESEARCH STATION&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; The Wildlife Research Station is situated along a remote wilderness zone off the Highway 60 Corridor. Since its inception in 1944, this field station has hosted significant ecological research projects, including North America&amp;#8217;s longest continuous study of small mammal distribution and abundance in forest habitats and Canada&amp;#8217;s longest ongoing life history research project on turtles.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; &lt;strong&gt;HOW TO REGISTER&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; To register for this workshop contact Elva or Lori at The Friends of Algonquin Park at (613) 637-2828 ext. 236. Limited enrollment.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Cost: $400 plus HST for members of The Friends of Algonquin Park. Non-members pay $420 plus HST (the registration fee, plus a fee for an individual membership). Cost includes 2 nights accommodation (Friday &amp;amp; Saturday) and 6 meals at the Wildlife Research Station, a vehicle permit to access all that Algonquin Park has to offer, a set of field guides introducing the Park&amp;#39;s wildlife, and a copy of the Wildlife Research Station&amp;#39;s most recent annual research reports.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; A deposit ($200) is charged at the time of booking, with the full balance due no later than May 1, 2013. 		<title type="text">Art Exhibit: Algonquin Palette and Experiencing Algonquin</title>
		<content type="html">Thursday, June 20, 2013, 9am&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash;&amp;nbsp;5pm &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;A joint exhibition, &amp;quot;Experiencing Algonquin&amp;quot; is meant to convey Barbara Simpson&amp;#8217;s impressions of the rugged beauty of Algonquin with its diversity of habitat and wildlife. &amp;quot;Algonquin Palette&amp;quot; by Vera Penrose, Susan Sydney and Ron Ward, members of the Kawartha Artists&amp;#8217; Gallery &amp;amp; Studio Outdoor Painters&amp;#8217; Group hope to awaken lasting memories of your visit. Algonquin Park visitors are treated to an ever changing palette of colours.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over the course of a year, the Visitor Centre&amp;#8217;s Algonquin Room presents six different exhibitions of Algonquin-themed art by area artists. The art is available for sale and a portion of each sale is dedicated to The Friends of Algonquin Park who, in turn, use these monies to enhance the educational and interpretive programs in Algonquin. 		<content type="html">Saturday, June 22, 2013, 9am&amp;nbsp;&amp;ndash;&amp;nbsp;5pm &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;The &lt;a href="http://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/visit/locations/algonquin-logging-museum.php" target="_blank"&gt;Algonquin Logging Museum&lt;/a&gt; brings the story of logging to life &amp;#8211; from the early square timber days to modern forest management practices.&lt;br /&gt; &lt;br /&gt; Enter the Reception Building and watch a short video presentation about the logging history of the Algonquin Park area.
