Larsen, dubbed as "the ultimate recycler", is also known for his work in the motion picture industry as a special effects artist and is the 2009 Sport Artist of the Year. Marketbasket is the Junior League of Pensacola’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds from the event benefit the Junior League’s community projects which are aimed to improve the lives of children in the foster care system throughout Northwest Florida. The Junior League is a nonprofit organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Over 200 women are actively serving in the Junior League of Pensacola, donating 10,000+ volunteer hours and raising over $125,000 annually for community service projects. The Town of Dauphin Island is collecting "pull tabs" from canned beverages in support of the Ronald McDonald House program. Please drop off tabs only (in a sealed zip lock bag) at Town Hall during regular business hours 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. WEEKDAYS ONLY, Monday through Friday.
