DESCRIPTION:The American economy is on the edge of catastrophe and futur
es are at risk. The Gordon family\, losing all they have worked for\, st
rive to preserve their trust in each other and in the promise of their n
ation. Written by one of the greatest twentieth-century playwrights\, Pa
radise Lost is a poetic\, humane\, and distinctly American drama that ex
amines the impact of money and greed on family\, business\, and love.\n
\nOdets considered Paradise Lost to be the favorite of his plays. First p
roduced by the Group Theatre in 1935\, the play voices the suffering\, h
ope\, and shattered dreams of a country in the throes of financial crisi
 s. Three-quarters of a century later\, Americans are still wrestling the
demons of nihilism and idealism\, charity and greed\, self-interest and
compassion.\n\nVisionary director Daniel Fish creates a bold new produc
tion of this powerful play that grabs hold of the American dream and ask
s if our optimism is a force for good or merely a delusion\, a means of
survival or one of escape.\n\nDates and show times vary. Visit the Web s
 ite for details.

the architectural style of its time. Within it is Annenberg Hall\, a pri
vate undergraduate dining hall inspired by the great halls of Oxford and
Cambridge universities. Memorial Hall houses an impressive collection o
f paintings\, statuary\, and stained glass to which the public has limit
ed access\, so this tour is a rare opportunity.\n\nHarvard Treasures is
a new series offered to Harvard Art Museum members only that will explor
e the university’s architectural riches and art holdings beyond the muse
um.\n\nParticipation is free\, but registration is required.\n\nTo learn

DESCRIPTION:In the autumn of 1818\, the poet John Keats met a young woma
n named Fanny Brawne. Despite obstacles — both financial and tubercular
 — Keats and Brawne fell in love. Their relationship inspired some of Kea
ts' best known works\, along with some of his most poignant and beautifu
l letters. A new exhibition at the Houghton Library explores their relat
ionship and its legacy\, and includes a selection of Keats' letters to B
 rawne\, a lock of Brawne's hair\, Oscar Wilde's response to the 1885 auc
tion of Keats' love letters\, and more.

DESCRIPTION:The 5th annual celebration of Irish traditional music and it
s connections throughout the Celtic World.\nFor the past four St. Patric
k.s Day Concerts\, WGBH.s Celtic Sojourn has introduced a wide range of
both familiar and new musicians to delighted audiences eager to celebrat
e the holiday in true Irish style.\n\nLocal\, regional\, and national br
oadcasts of of O'Donovan's radio program\, A Celtic Sojourn over the pas
t 25 years have proven extraordinarily popular. This concert follows the
format established for the burgeoning Christmas Celtic Sojourn series o
f concerts which\, just this past December\, played to over 9\,000 peopl
 e in Boston\, Providence and Worcester.\n\nThis concert\, called A St. P
atrick’s Day Celtic Sojourn\, was first produced in 2004 and reflects th
e easy\, relaxed and diverse offerings of O.Donovan's weekly program. Th
is year's version will feature the return of an iconic fiddler from Irel
and\, Frankie Gavin\, who has created a new and dynamic version of his b
and De Dannan. Guitarist extraordinaire Tony McManus will join us and th
e new\, young singer and harpist Maeve Gilchrist who is turning heads al
l over the world. As has become a tradition for the show\, some very spe
cial surprise musical guests will also be added to the show.\n\n“St. Pat
rick.s Day – indeed the whole month of March - is a time for many in the
Irish Diaspora to celebrate our roots. For many others\, with no ethnic
connection whatsoever to the country\, it is a time to explore the musi
c and dance culture that is at once sophisticated and accessible\, while
tracing its origins back hundreds\, even thousands of years. Everyone i
s welcome to our party on St. Patrick's Day!”

DESCRIPTION:From the dark forests of New Guinea to the woods of New Engl
and\, various parasites pull off tricks of manipulation that would impre
ss any Hollywood screenwriter: They hijack the brains of insects and lit
erally turn them into “zombies.” In defending against such sinister Sven
galis\, an array of defensive behaviors has evolved. Darwin was the firs
t to study this in humans\, and since then scientists have theorized tha
t fear and disgust might be a defense against certain parasites. David H
 ughes\, a researcher in Harvard’s Museum of Comparative Zoology\, will d
iscuss the evolution of these behaviors in a world teeming with parasite
 s.

DESCRIPTION:A free reception will be held on Thurs.\, March 25\, from 5-
7 p.m. The exhibit will be ongoing.\n\nWonder\, confusion\, and curiosit
y: just a few of the responses by Africans\, Native Americans\, and Euro
peans in the age of exploration\, as each struggled to comprehend the ot
 her.\n\nIn the 16th and 17th centuries\, new navigational technologies s
purred global travel. While European depictions of early encounters are
familiar to us today\, other peoples also left material records of their
own experience. Inspired by collections of the Peabody Museum\, Houghto
n Library\, and the Collection of Historical Scientific Instruments\, th
is exhibit broadly explores global mobility\, encounter\, and exchange i
n colonial encounters among peoples of Europe\, Africa\, and the America
