Event description: Bald Eagle Nesting, Make a date to come to Barr Lake in either Jan or Feb as they are excellent months for bald eagle viewing. In January, eagles begin courtship behavior including tumbling in mid-air, nest building, and staying close together. In mid-February and often coinciding with Valentine’s Day, bald eagles lay one to three eggs. The parents take turns incubating the eggs, so you are practically guaranteed to see an eagle on the nest. If all goes well, eaglets hatch in late March. Eagle Express to the gazebo and back. Juanita grew up in Mexico, Spain and Panama but has studied extensively in the United States. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Yale and a Master of Arts in Ethnomusicology from Berkeley. Juanita is an expert in the field of Hispanic Vocal Music, having immersed herself in zarzuela, mariachi and classical art song styles in the Spanish language. Juanita will present information about the composers and styles, punctuated by performances by the students from the workshop. No ticket required.
