Many of the signs psychiatrists and psychologists have identified for depression, anxiety, trauma, other disorders and suicide risk factors are discussed in the program. Early and appropriate treatment for children can address Idaho's high suicide rate among young people. Untreated, these illnesses can result in behavioral problems at school, difficulty learning, low self-esteem, poor school attendance and grades, impaired social development, difficulties with law enforcement, and even death.

This training is designed to train adult gatekeepers on the signs and symptoms of mental illness in children and youth, suicide risk assessment and intervention, the latest scientific information on childhood mental disorders and the impacts of trauma. Gatekeepers include parents and families, professionals, school faculty and staff, and others who care for or about Idaho's children.

IMNH RiverWalk - Invasive Weeds of Bannock County

Dave Hallinan from the Bannock County Noxious Weed Control office will lead this walk along the Sacajawea Trail. In mid-summer the invasive weeds will be out in full force. This is a great opportunity to learn how to identify and control some of these too prevalent plants. Terrain is accessible to all.

RiverWalks are monthly, family-oriented field excursions, each focusing on a different natural history topic. Sponsored by the Idaho Museum of Natural History and the Portneuf Greenway Foundation, this extremely popular series gives people of all ages the opportunity to get out and learn about the natural world around them while enjoying the Greenway trails.

RiverWalks are monthly, family-oriented field excursions, each focusing on a different natural history topic. Sponsored by the Idaho Museum of Natural History and the Portneuf Greenway Foundation, this extremely popular series gives people of all ages the opportunity to get out and learn about the natural world around them while enjoying the Greenway trails.
