Las Vegas Sleigh Rides

The Mount Charleston Sleigh Rides has moved from the Cathedral Rock campground in upper Kyle Canyon to the Old Mill campground in Lee Canyon. Enjoy old-fashioned horse drawn sleigh rides in the majestic Toiyabe National Forest. Rides go through the Old Mill picnic grounds in Spring Mountain National Recreation Area. This ride takes you back to the good old days, a great family event and a tradition at Mount Charleston. After you have been whisked away through the forest where the tree tops glisten and snowflakes fall, enjoy your thermos of hot beverage or holiday cheer around a warm crackling campfire. Rides usually run through March depending on snowfall.

Adults $25, Children $20, Ages 2 and under are free. Reservations preferred.

Located just 16 miles west on highway 156. To get to 156 you go north on the 95 freeway past the Mt. Charleston turnoff (147) to Lee Canyon turn off, Highway 156.

Cliff Segerblom began as a professional photographer by documenting the construction of the Hoover Dam and Panama Canal for the Bureau of Reclamation. As an artist, Segerblom was prolific in capturing parts of Nevada that have slowly been disappearing. His photography has been published in Life, Time and National Geographic magazines and displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Opens Tuesday, March 16 and runs through June 13, 2010, 10 – 6 pm daily in the Big Spring Gallery in the Origen Experience. Free for Springs Preserve members or included with general admission.
