Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, one of Nevada’s largest non-profit providers for homeless, neglected and runaway youth, will kick off its Safe Place Sign Sale on October 30, 2009, at all Terrible Herbst convenience store locations in Southern Nevada. The Safe Place Sign Sale will kick off a six-week fundraising campaign. Donations start at $1 and range up to $10,000. In exchange for donations, donors will receive a Safe Place sign with their name, which will be posted at all Terrible Herbst locations for the duration of the campaign. World Powerlifting Championships

There is a very unique event going to be held in Las Vegas, November 11-15. The World Powerlifting Championships being held at the Riviera Hotel and Casino

This is the last time this world championship will be held in the United States for several years. Last year it was in Austria, this year Las Vegas, next year England, the following year Germany etc.

Due to the uniqueness of the event and how seldom it is held in the United States we felt this was not only a sporting event but was also a newsworthy event.

The United States Powerlifting Federation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization promoting the sport of amateur powerlifting.
This event will be of great interest to all the sports fans in your audience who enjoy live, heart pounding, world class competition from some very impressive athletes whose amazing feats of strength seem to defy gravity.
12 countries and almost 400 lifters men and women teens through seniors will be competing in the squat, bench press and deadlift.

The first in a series of fine art collections to show in the ORIGEN Experience's Big Springs Gallery, Robert Beckmann's "Elemental Landscape" exhibit features the artist's trademark oil paintings. Currently living in Oregon, Beckmann is a long-time Las Vegas artist whose work skillfully captures the essence of both locales. "Elemental Landscape" features paintings of the Las Vegas Wash and the Pacific Northwest, using waterways as the common thread tying together these two disparate environments.

Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School’s 2009 Scholarship Endowment Gala

Pro Football Hall of Famer and NFL coach Mike Ditka will be the featured speaker at Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School’s 2009 Scholarship Endowment Gala on November 17, 2009, starting at 6:00 p.m., at the Red Rock Casino Resort. Besides a humorous commentary from Coach Ditka, the evening will include a four-course gourmet dinner and entertainment.

Individual tickets are $225, and sponsorships of all levels are available. The $4,000 Gold Sponsor includes an invitation to the VIP cocktail reception and special meet and greet with Coach Ditka.

Proceeds will benefit the Faith Lutheran Scholarship Endowment Fund, which has raised almost $1.6M over nine years. This year, the endowment will help support $75,000 in tuition assistance to families who would otherwise not be able to afford a private Christian education for their child at Faith Lutheran Jr/Sr High School.

The Las Vegas Mothers of Multiples is celebrating its 25th year! LVMOMs is a local non-profit (501c3) branch of the National Organization of Mothers of Twins' Clubs. The organization provides social support for the mothers of twins, triplets, and higher order multiples throughout the Las Vegas Valley.All M.O.M.'s are welcome to attend.
