The Werner Institute is providing Las Vegas residents a free fall risk analysis using the only NASA platform, SMART EquiTEST, in the Las Vegas valley. Medicare is trying to identify fall risk on senior due to the enormous cost to the program - total test time is 12 minutes. Please call the office and ask for the Medicare Fall Prevention Screen. National Night Out - Movie in the Park

On Tuesday, August 5, Mountain’s Edge will host its 2nd Annual National Night Out at Exploration Park to raise awareness of crime and drug prevention while strengthening the relationship between the community and law enforcement. In true community spirit, the event will incorporate a movie in the park and movie concessions will be made available. Mountain’s Edge encourages those who attend the event, which will begin at 6:00 p.m., to bring blankets and picnic food for the family. In addition to the movie, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department’s K-9 unit will be on-hand for a demonstration and the Southwest Command Community Liaison will be present to speak about the neighborhood watch program. Amber Alert also will be in attendance from Phoenix, Arizona to give a presentation on what to do if your child is missing and sell DNA tests to families. To round out National Night Out, representatives from both Mountain’s Edge elementary schools, Wright and Reedom Elementary School, will be actively seeking participants to volunteer as cross walk guards within the community during the 08 –09 school year.

Amazing Grace Ministries Needs Our Community’s Help

Amazing Grace Ministry, based in Las Vegas, is making an appeal to the public to help in their efforts to feed the homeless here in the valley.

Volunteers prepare and serve a home-cooked supper to 250 homeless each Wednesday evening and also provide worship service and continental breakfast each Sunday morning.

Volunteers distribute donations of gently used clothing. The ministry provides referral services to individuals needing employment, housing, and counseling.
