 ls in Art - From the oldest cave-paintings and in all cultures\, humans 
 have always experienced a deep connection to animals and have represente
 d it in their art and artifacts. In this workshop we’ll go on a gallery 
 scavenger hunt to see where the animals are hiding at the Taubman! We wi
 ll also explore the work of Sam Easterson who uses modern video technolo
 gy to see the world through the eyes of animals in his current Taubman M
 useum exhibition Eco-Sensing. In Sam's words\, "By learning what it is l
 ike to be an animal or plant\, I learn more about what it means to be hu
 man”. Returning to the studio we will draw\, paint\, and sculpt our own

 on the part of the RSO and the Taubman Museum of Art to work "in concert
 " as they fulfill their own missions in the Roanoke Valley.\n\nThe Wrigh
 t Kids\nWith a bass\, a violin\, a mandolin\, a guitar\, and some singin

 d mixed media. \n\nJeffrey W. Allison is serving as Art Show juror.  Jef
 frey W. Allison is currently the Paul Mellon Collection Educator\, Virgi
 nia Museum of Fine Arts and the Coordinator of Statewide Programs\, for 
 the Museum. Jeffrey also teaches Advanced Photography in the Museum's St
 udio School program.\n\nSelected works will be exhibited in WVTF’s Art G
 allery at Broadcast Center in Roanoke through August 31. An Open House f
 eaturing live music and refreshments will be held August 14 from 5 p.m.
