Participants are provided with an opportunity to express the difficult feelings that accompany their loss, in a safe and supportive environment. Grief education and counseling are also provided.

meditation that you can practice anytime. This is
followed by a brief description of how to meditate on
specific objects of meditation.

Precise instructions for finding and holding the
object of meditation will be practiced in class
through guided meditations and commentary.

No prior experience or knowledge is necessary; and
there are no other special requirements. With these
instructions, you will learn how to enjoy meditation.
You'll develop ways to deal with specific problems and
obstacles to help resolve the difficulties in your
life. As a result you will develop the wish to
meditate, gradually transforming your mind and your
life.

Each Class Self-Contained & Drop-ins Okay!

Find mental peace and happiness through meditation.
Anyone can learn to meditate. All you need to know is
what to meditate upon (called the object of
meditation) and how to develop concentration (single
pointed focus on the object of meditation).

Each class will suggest an object of meditation
prepared by the famous Buddhist master Atisha one
thousand years ago in Tibet.

Maxine Wright is a member of the Mahakaruna Buddhist
Center headquartered in Petaluma, California. The
Center is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition whose
founder and Spiritual Guide is the Venerable Geshe
Kelsang Gyatso, author of 20 renowned books on
meditation and Buddhist practice.

Shot over a 20-year period, The Gates portrays Christo and partner Jeanne-Claude’s 24-year struggle and passion for their massive temporary art installation in Central Park, from conception through bureaucracy to the final realization in 2005.

NYC’s biggest public art project consisted of a series of 7,500 sixteen-foot-high gates trailing swaths of bright, saffron-colored fabric, creating a shimmering river of color in the park for 16 days. It is rare that artists have the fortitude to fight through a process that takes over twenty years, and accomplishes their vision on such a grand scale. And it is even more rare to have documented the process—from conception of a dream to the fulfillment of its reality.

Hospice and Adult Day Services of Napa Valley offers a grief support group for up valley residents of Napa County who have experienced the death of a loved one.

This group is facilitated by a bereavement professional and meets weekly on Tuesday mornings from 10:00am – 11:00am in Calistoga. Participants are provided with an opportunity to express the difficult feelings that accompany their loss, in a safe and supportive environment. Grief education and counseling are also provided.

An all NEW! hands-on workshop for hobbyists and established beekeepers. Students will learn to assemble hives, prepare for acquiring bees and learn skills to successfully manage your own bee colony at home. Gain an understanding of the honeybee as one of the more important contributors to our agricultural landscape. Discover sustainable beekeeping, without using antibiotics or chemical compounds for pest and disease control. Included in this dynamic class outline: discussions on bee biology, honeybee pests and diseases, beekeeping equipment, and methods of swarm prevention and control. Through open-hive inspections students will have an opportunity to become comfortable handling bees and learn via our hands-on approach to this class. The course includes a few group scheduled Saturday field trips.
