Atlanta History Center Celebrates Georgia’s Native American Roots

The Atlanta History Center celebrates Georgia’s Native American roots with an unconventional look at the Creek and Cherokee Indians. While most historical accounts stop at the Trail of Tears, when tribes were forcibly moved west, “Native Lands: Indians and Georgia” explores Native Americans’ recent history and their continuing influences on our state. The traveling exhibition will feature village replicas as well as videos of contemporary Native Americans discussing modern community issues.
