Eric is one of Utah’s most expressive plein air painters using color and movement to portray scenes and images masterfully. Eric paints in a wide range of styles, mediums and topics such as floral and figurative in acrylic and oils, and his work ranges from representational to impressionistic, to abstract. Of special note: Eric is the featured artist at this year’s 6th Annual Ogden Arts Festival, picked by the festival committee during last year’s plein air competition for his portrayal of a beautiful cityscape reminiscent of downtown Ogden.

A watercolor painter by trade, Kory seeks to unite the visual and literary arts in his work. With no formal watercolor training, Kory has been painting professionally since 2001, during which time he has had solo exhibitions at the Eccles Community Art Center’s Carriage House Gallery (Spring 2004) and at Olive and Dahlia on historic 25th Street (Summer 2005). He has also shown his work in the Springville Art Museum, participated in a Utah Arts Counsel traveling exhibition, created floral designs for Art in Bloom at the University of Utah’s Utah Museum of Fine Arts, juried art competitions, donated original work for various auctions and charities including volunteering to paint murals in an orphanage in Chiapas, Mexico. He has been listed as a collected Utah artist in Salt Lake magazine as well as being featured in the magazine Utah Style and Design (Fall 2002) for mural work. His painting entitled “Hydrangea Blue” has been selected for a museum tour from 2008 to 2010 by the International Guild of Realism. He is the winner of the 2007 cover competition for American Artist’s Watercolor magazine and has recently been awarded the Florence Kahn Memorial Award for his poetry chapbook On the Way to Fish for Shiner by the National Federation of State Poetry Societies. He is a member of the International Guild of Realism, an associate member of the American Watercolor Society and the National Watercolor Society, author of the book Watercolor for the First Time (2005) as well as being an accredited member of the American Institute of Floral Designers.

Mac is a Utah artist who resides in North Ogden with his wife Ann. He spent his career teaching art to High School students, and was chosen as Utah High School Art Teacher of the Year in 1994. After seven years in University, and 29 years teaching art, Mac now directs his energy toward teaching himself.

As a full-time artist, his works range from traditional to abstract. He works in watercolor, oil, gouache, pastel, and mixed media, and he has won numerous awards. Mac has had many solo shows at various galleries throughout the state. He is a charter member of Gallery 25 in Ogden, and participates in the annual art show and sale every winter in Scottsdale Arizona. He is having the time of his life with his art!
Join Mac for the showing of his new work on First Friday Art Stroll, June 5th, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

The new design will introduce infants and toddlers to the amazing world of music while keeping all of the wonderful elements of a story time and emergent literacy. All children from infancy through five years old and their caregivers are invited to participate in lively singalongs, play on instruments, and enjoy great stories. Discovery Times will now be held in two forty-five minute sessions on Monday mornings. Continuing to develop her talents as a musician, she teams up with guitarist, Mark Miller, and other musicians for shows when in her hometown of Reno. She can also be regularly found in the recording studio. Diverse in style, her vocals can be heard on recordings ranging from jazz/blues to pop/rock, from contemporary gospel to dance/electronica. As a credit to her work in the studio, she was honored with Pearl Awards for "Studio Vocalist of the Year" in 2004, 2005, and 2006 as well as awards for "Contemporary Recording of the Year" in 2005 and "Devotional Recorded Song" in 2007. She also recently received an award from the Interfaith Power & Light Earth Song Competition for her song "Marks of My Path" (to be released soon on her upcoming record).

April's debut album, Harvest of Change, is slated for a 2009 release, on Meservy's own label, Forêt d'Musique (Jèrriais: "Forest of Music").

The Ogden Nature Center presents FOR THE BIRDS...an outdoor exhibit of handcrafted and whimsical birdhouses. The Exhibit runs April 18 through August 31, 2009 and is open 9-5 Monday through Friday and 9-4 on Saturdays. Admission is $4 for adults , $3 for seniors and $2 for children. Members are FREE.
The Ogden Nature Center is located at 966 W. 12th Street in Ogden.
