DESCRIPTION:We invite you to be a guest this summer at the Black Point M
ansion. \n\nThe Lake Geneva area has served as a resort community since
just after the Civil War when many wealthy Chicagoans relocated to the a
rea while their homes and place of business were being rebuilt as a resu
lt of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871. Many chose to stay in the area fu
ll-time\, while others built mansions and vacation homes for summer use.
 \n \nWhat began in 1887 as a $20\,000\, 13-bedroom\, one-bathroom home
now stands as what State Historical Society of Wisconsin architectural h
istorian Patricia Butler calls "perhaps the finest example of Queen Anne
design remaining as a lakeshore estate in the Lake Geneva area." Today
\, Black Point is considered to have one of the most intact collections o
f Victorian furniture in the Midwest. The property covers nearly eight
acres and 620 feet of undisturbed Geneva Lake shoreline. This historic t
reasure encapsulates over a century of life on Lake Geneva. The 20-room
Queen Ann style Victorian “cottage” has been consecutively owned by the
Seipp Family for the last 120 years. Learn how a German immigrant grew t
o become one of Chicago’s elite beer barons and how his family spent the
ir summers at Black Point. From our original glass tile fireplaces to ou
r first edition Tom Sawyer you will see amazing antiques\, architecture
\, collections\, and personal belongings through history. \n\nCome experi
ence Lake Geneva… as it was. \n\nOpen from May 15th to October 31st.\n\n
Only 48 guests allowed at one time. Tours will last approx. 90 minutes.
Morning tours and late afternoon tours available\, seven days a week.\n

DESCRIPTION:There are only handful of places left in the country where m
ail is still delivered by boat and none with a more exciting and scenic
tour like this! With nearly 90 years of Mail Service\, we still deliver
mail to about 60 homes around the lake on a daily basis from June 15 - S
eptember 15 every year. The Walworth departs promptly at 10:00 a.m. ever
y day with a load of passengers\, mail and very unique mail person. The
mailboat returns to the Riviera Docks at 12:30 pm after its 2½ hour crui
se around the entire lake. \n\nOur mail person isn't at all like the one
who stops by your home every day. To deliver the mail\, she must jump o
ff the bow of the boat while it is still moving and on to the pier. Deli
ver the mail\, grab any out-going parcels and leap back on to the stern
of the boat before it passes by. The mailgirl must possess skill and agi
lity in order to complete the delivery and remain dry! \n\nThe only way
you will get any closer to the homes is by walking up to their front doo
 r. \n\nAs a special star route for the U.S. Post Office\, the U.S. Mailb
oat - Walworth is equipped with its' famous "U.S. Mailboat" cancellation
stamp. Be sure to write a letter or postcard and have this special stam
p that you can only get aboard the boat.

DESCRIPTION:M & I Bank Hosts Geneva Lake Art Association Artist of the M

Lake Geneva is Donnette Behar\, a resident of Delavan\, Wisconsin. She i
s a member of the Geneva Lake Art Association and currently the recordin
g secretary for that organization.\n\nDonnette began watercolor painting
in the summer of 2004 after her retirement from Phoenix Middle School w
here she was a Vocal Music teacher for 35 years. When the demands of he
r teaching career ended\, Donnette was free to pursue her interest in pa
inting. She began taking classes offered by the Geneva Lake Art Associa
tion under the direction of artist\, instructors Paulette Jensen and Nan
cy Newcomb. She also attended workshops by Cheng-Khee Chee\, Kaffe Fasse
tt and Thomas Trausch. This marked the start of an enjoyable and rewardi
ng second career.\n\n“I enjoy the watercolor medium because it is fascin
ating to watch the movement of the pigment as it meets the water on the
paper. Watercolor allows me to paint ‘outside the lines’. I love color
and enjoy painting landscapes\, nature\, and animals. Although I haven’
t fully developed my style\, I ‘m drawn to the French impressionists and
the works of Mary Cassatt\, Monet\, Degas\, and Renoir”.\n\nYou can vie
w Donnette’s watercolor paintings throughout the month of June at the M&

DESCRIPTION:The Lifelong Empowerment Open (or LEO\, for short) began in
2007\, and has quickly grown to one of Walworth County's largest fundrai
sing events. Hosting on average over 400 for golf\, and over 700 for the
dinner and auction\, the LEO helps raise much needed funds for several
Walworth County organizations. In 2007 and 2008\, the proceeds went to S
MILES\, VIP Services\, and Lakeland School\, and in 2009 Inspiration Min
istries will join them as a co-beneficiary of this event. \n\nThe theme
for this year's LEO is "Life\, Liberty\, and the Pursuit of Happiness."
The committee chose this theme\, not only because of the date of the eve
nt's proximity to the Fourth of July\, but also because that is what we
are truly hoping to achieve for those who benefit from this event.\n\nTh
e ability to purchase tickets to the LEO\, as well as make a fully tax d

ww.genevanationalfoundation.com.\n\nIf you have any questions\, or would

I Bank located at 410 Broad Street in downtown Lake Geneva.\n\nThe GLAA

ail is still delivered by boat and none with a more exciting and scenic
tour like this!
The mailgirl must possess skill and agi

you will get any closer to the homes is by walking up to their front doo
