Scrapbook News and Review is looking for your cards! Fall is fast approaching, and with it all the fun of Harvest and Halloween. Cool, crisp fall colors, great images and icons---show us all of you Fall, Harvest and Halloween cards!! Also looking for:

--Children's Cards: These would be any cards made for a child...birthday cards, get well cards, just because---use your imagination and have fun!
--Apology/Sorry Cards
--Cheer Up Cards
--Sewn on Cards- any that have a touch, or more of sewing on them...either machine or hand stitched.
--Rub Ons- Show us new and fun ways to use rub ons on your cards

The Details:
--All Cards should be submitted by Sept 12th.
--Images should be no larger than 350 pixels on the longest side
--Image names should include card name and your name...For Example: Happy Birthday by Mary Smith.jpg
--Please include complete supply list in submission
--Please include contact information.
--Cards may be previously seen. If chosen, we respectfully request they be removed from any blogs or galleries. An 'Out for Publication' sign will be provided upon request.

Scrapbook News and Review is looking for your Faith based layouts for its monthly column: A Faith Perspective. This month, we are specifically looking for faith based layouts dealing with marriage, your spouse, foundations of marriage, etc. What does your marriage mean? Where is God in your Marriage? How is your spouse a blessing to you? These are a few of the questions your layout might choose to address.

The Details:

--All layouts should be submitted by Sept 12th.
--Images should be no larger than 550 pixels on the longest side
--Image names should include layout name and your name...For Example: Happy Birthday by Mary Smith.jpg
--Please include complete supply list in submission
--Please include all journaling typed out in your submission email
--Please include contact information.

Scrapbook News + Review October 2008 Altered/Home Dec Calls

Scrapbook News and Review is looking for your altered and home décor creations. October's Issue will feature things to alter for your entryway and Halloween themes. In particular, we are looking for:
Artful Rooms – things you have altered for use in your entryway – wreaths for you door, wall hangings, key and gadget corrals, coat hooks - let's see what you've got!
Options – our Options item this month will be metal pails. This does include paint cans. We'd love to see how you've decorated them and what you're using them for.
Seasonal – Halloween. Let's get spooky in here! We're looking for Halloween themed decorations, party items, gifts and more.
Wearables – We're looking for the things you've made from your paper crafting supplies that can be worn. Jewelry, totes, barrettes – anything goes! While there's no specific theme, we're hoping to see some spooky designs or how you've used your scrapbook supplies to help make a costume.
ATC Alley – We'd love to see your latest and greatest ATC cards.

-Projects due by September 20th.

Call Guidelines

Please submit your pages with the following guidelines:

* Pages only (unless specified) -- no altered projects, mini albums or home decor
* Of any size
* Can be traditional, hybrid or digital (please specify)
* No restrictions on whether it has been posted to an online gallery, blog, etc., but we respectfully request that you take them down when requested for publication.

Important Note: Please register at our site before sending in your submissions. This will ensure that we're able to properly contact you as well as authorize you to view the magazine should your artwork be accepted for publication. All submissions must include a SNR username.

Call Descriptions

By Style - In each issue of Scrapbook News & Review, we'll feature scrapbook pages by style and skill level. As a chance to see as many styles and genres as possible, for this call only, we will not restrict the amount of submissions per scrapbooker. In fact, we would prefer to see at least 3 to 5 layouts per scrapbooker in order to give us an idea of how well defined your style is.

We're currently looking for pages and projects of any size or subject. It must be a clearly defined style, i.e. clean and simple, modern and graphic, shabby chic, classic, freestyle, eclectic, etc. Please include the style category you feel best describes your work.

Baby's First Year - Cute little chubby cheeks, sweet little giggles, tender, light-hearted smiles -- babies, they just tug at the heart. From birth to the first year, share your stories with us. It does not have to be the whole year, just pick a moment that made you smile, happy, tickled your funny bone or even gave you reason to be thankful.

Embrace the Darkness - Black, brown, maroon, purple, forest green, navy blue -- show us how you use dark colors. Do you mix them with softer colors? Do you use only darker shades? Use colorful pictures or black-and-white? We want to see how you embrace the darkness.

Local Flavor - It's more than where you hang your hat, it's the community you're a part of -- the people, the culture, the sights, the sounds, and the "flavor." Tell us about where you live, about what it means to you; look at it through new eyes, see it as a tourist would, but most importantly, fall in love all over again!

Parent & Child/Siblings/Family Tree - We're looking for scrapbook layouts and projects that exemplify the bond between a parent and child, between siblings, or even pages that feature extended family or a family tree.

Pets - Our pet section is one of the most viewed section of the magazine! As planned, we've made the pet section an extra-special part of SNR. If you'd like to see your pet's mug on our front page or have a layout you'd like to share, we want to see them!

Rock This Look! - Got a favorite technique? Wanna try a new one? Show us how you kick up your pages with an old favorite or a new technique -- just use it on your layout and then include step-by-step directions on how you did it. (Due to limited space, please keep directions to a minimum.)

Wedding - Not the usual. Not boring and bland. We want to see wedding pages that are a little quirky, have great stories to share, or are so blinged out you can practically see your reflection in it!

What It Means to Be . . . - Tell SNR what it means to be Irish, Mexican, Italian, Indonesian, Black, etc. How does your ethnicity affect your life? What does it mean to you personally? Share your thoughts, traditions, facts about your culture -- we truly want to see it all! Layouts only, please.
