His works can be found in the collections of The Library of Congress (US), La Bibliotheque National de Paris (France), The Museum of Modern Art in New York (US) and le Musee de la Photographic of Charleroi (Belgium). In addition to his journalistic work, Jerome has several portfolios of projects he has embarked on for his own interests. The Djembe Factory emerges from this grouping as an objective look into the culture of a people producing Djembe drums on the outskirts of Abidjan.

Stonewall Manor will host its Annual Spring Living History/Reenactment event Memorial Day Weekend, May 25th & 26th. For the 6th year since Historic Stonewall brought back these community events, the Manor will be the site of plenty of action—including hands on living history activities and demonstrations such as blacksmithing, spinning, weaving, musket shooting, skirmishes, cannon fire and more! We welcome everyone looking for a fun, educational activity to join us at Stonewall Manor as we celebrate both life and traditions established during the Civil War era, but also those of the period circa 1830, when this great historic landmark was built.

This year’s participants will include Latham’s Battery 13th N.C. CO.F., Reilly’s Battery 10th N.C. CO., Edenton Bell Battery 3rd N.C. CO.B., N.C. Naval Squadron, Olde South Blacksmiths, Sweet Pea Sutlery, The SCV Black River Tigers Camp 2152, Black River Tiger Roses Chapter 50 and the Tarheel Civilians. These groups have become regular participants at Stonewall’s Annual Spring and Fall events, as well as hosting other events at different historical landmarks across the State. Rocky Mount's Historic Preservation Commission consists of nine members appointed by the mayor and the City Council. The pertinent ordinance stipulates that a majority of the commissioners must demonstrate expertise in history or architecture through special interest, education, or experience.

The Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for protecting the architectural integrity of the local historic districts and local landmarks. To meet that responsibility, the commission reviews all applications from property owners and residents for certificates of appropriateness to make certain kinds of changes within the historic districts. Applications are reviewed to determine if the proposed changes are consistent with design guidelines. Born in Brussels, Belgium, Jerome De Perlinghi's career as a journalist photographer has taken him all over the world. Between shoots for international media publications such as The Washington Post and Liberation Le Monde, Jerome turns his lens on people, places and moments in time that captivate his interest and expose cultures in beauty as well as defeat. This exhibit is a public debut of works from his personal portfolio, The Rust Belt. The work culminates a two year reportage from Cleveland to Buffalo; Duluth to Milwaukee showing how the decline of steel and auto industry has impacted the surrounding communities.

Born in Brussels, Belgium, Jerome De Perlinghi's career as a journalist photographer has taken him all over the world. Between shoots for international media publications such as The Washington Post and Liberation Le Monde, Jerome turns his lens on people, places and moments in time that captivate his interest and expose cultures in beauty as well as defeat. This exhibit is a public debut of works from his personal portfolio, The Rust Belt. The work culminates a two year reportage from Cleveland to Buffalo; Duluth to Milwaukee showing how the decline of steel and auto industry has impacted the surrounding communities.

His works can be found in the collections of The Library of Congress (US), La Bibliotheque National de Paris (France), The Museum of Modern Art in New York (US) and le Musee de la Photographic of Charleroi (Belgium). In addition to his journalistic work, Jerome has several portfolios of projects he has embarked on for his own interests. The Djembe Factory emerges from this grouping as an objective look into the culture of a people producing Djembe drums on the outskirts of Abidjan.
