Additional Information: As Eyeris Productions’ first feature film V.A.m.L. is a dark comedy horror full of blood, action, humor, a killer score and possibly some girl on girl action. Directed by Jill Poisson (her feature directorial debut) with the aid of the whole cast and crew took on the tall order of creating a world filled with devious creatures such as Vampires and Demons but making them incredibly human and making it all funny at the same time. The ambitions go beyond the script, V.A.m.L. boasts a large cast, countless locations through much of the East Bay Rhode Island; most of which were filmed at night with multiple fast paced fighting sequences. The goal of filmmakers at Eyeris Productions was to create an independent movie that is cool, clean and professional; to break the mold of budget defines quality.

“Short Short Story Film Festival Comes to Providence Thanksgiving Weekend”

MergingArts Productions will present the third annual Short Short Story Film Festival on Saturday, November 28th at The Cable Car Cinema
and Café at 204 South Main Street in Providence, RI, highlighting films of five minutes or less in length, all of which tell a story. The films include both live-action and animated pieces from North America, Europe, and Australia.

The festival features two sets of nineteen films, the first being what the organizers call the “Heartstrings Program,” showing at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm, consisting of films of a sentimental nature – tragic, comic, romantic, or a mix of the three.

The second program is the “Headtrip Program,” which screens at 3:00 pm and 9:00 pm, and presents more off-center films, with black comedies and horror well represented, along with many films that don’t pigeonhole easily – experimental in flavor, but still having a story.

The festival includes a 5:00 pm reception with Phil Goldman and participants in his Live Bait short storytelling series, with DJ Madame B mixing soundscapes between stories.

LUMBERJACKING, an independent feature comedy filmed in Rhode Island by Rhode Islanders Rich Camp, Frank Iacobucci, Joe Agresti and Matt Zuena, will premiere at 8PM on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the richly refurbished RI Center for Performing Arts at the Historic Park Theater (formerly the Park Cinema), Rolfe Square, Cranston.
Cast and crew will be on hand to greet guests at the inaugural screening of the feature-length film, made on a shoestring budget, about a lumberjack in the 1960's who refuses to make the switch from axe to chainsaw. The film features John DePetro of radio station WPRO among a varied cast of Rhode Island natives.

Tickets, which are $10 each, can be purchased at www.lumberjackingmovie.com. Any remaining tickets can be purchased at the door. The film is appropriate for audiences over the age of 13.

Bring Your Own Improv is now in its second season! This is an interactive improv show that welcomes voluntary audience participation! You can participate in one of three ways: Applaud at a scene you like, yell out fantastic suggestions, or if you feel you're ready, jump up and get involved with us on stage!!!

Just a $5 cover at the door. This is an 18+ event (Sorry Kids) and 21 or Older to Drink. (BYOB). Please make sure to bring a pillow as seating is limited but floor space is ample.

So come out and join us for a late night of fun that will be worth an extra coffee the next morning. This is a great show for novices, intermediates, experts and other improv performers who just want to unwind. Come flex that acting muscle or just laugh till you pee! The press has said about us… nothing, we are too new and no one has reviewed us yet. But the audiences have loved us! So come play with us!

“A Christmas Carol” will open on Thursday, December 10th and will run through Thursday, December 17th in the Black Box Theatre at Artists’ Exchange, closing at RICPA on December 19th. All performances are scheduled for 7pm, with the exception of Sunday, 12/13 which will be a matinee performance at 2pm. All tickets are $15. Groups of 15 or more will qualify for a reduced ticket price of $10 per ticket. The December 19th show at RICPA will be preceded by a VIP Party from 4:30 to 7pm at Artists' Exchange, hosted by Mayor Allan Fung and Steven Feinberg. The party will include a silent auction, delicious food from local restaurants including Efendi’s Mediterranean Grill, wine from Jonathan Edwards Winery and beer from Rapscallion Brewery, live entertainment provided by Mark Taber, Linda Succi and the Always on Sunday Ballroom Dancers, and the chorus from “A Christmas Carol,” finishing with a horse-drawn carriage ride down the street to the theater.
