After graduating from University of Washington’s IVA program, Abram Deslauriers completed his MFA in Glassworking at VCUarts in Richmond, VA in 2014. Currently he resides in Seattle, WA and works at Pilchuck Glass School as the Operations Coordinator while continuing his professional studio practice. Deslauriers’ improvisational installation [insert title], traveled in the Bullseye Emerge/Evolve 2014 show, with the largest version installed at the Bellevue Arts Museum in Spring 2015. This work spurred the accumulation of glass, Mass of Black that exhibited in the 2014 Stanislav Libensky Award Show in Prague, Czech Republic. In January 2015, Abram Deslauriers received an Honorary Diploma from the Jutta-Cuny Franz Foundation for his [insert title] series. Deslauriers, along with David King and Liesl Schubel, formed a performance art collective known as Flock the Optic to mash pop culture, optics, glass, sound and bird migration for public interventions. Flock the Optic recently collaborated with Tina Aufiero for the 9e2 Seattle exhibition at King Street Station in October 2016. |
