Description | Drew Hamlin (BFA Design 2009) is a software designer living in San Francisco. He currently works at Quip, a division of Salesforce that builds a real-time collaborative productivity suite for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. Hamlin joined Quip in January 2017 when they acquired the three-person design startup he co-founded, Unity&Variety. At Unity&Variety, Hamlin, along with his co-founder Joey Flynn (BFA Design 2010), designed and built Pinchworm, a fun and fast-paced iOS game with over 500K installs. Pinchworm became the 2nd top-ranked free game (and 9th-ranked free app) after its release and has consistently maintained a five-star review in the App Store. Before starting his own company, Hamlin worked on a variety of teams at Facebook (including Messenger, Photos, Search, and Timeline) for six years, first as an intern, then a designer and later, a design manager. |
