In this 3 day workshop, participants will learn to work effectively with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) using evidence-based strategies from principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Opportunities for hands-on practice and coaching/feedback will be offered. Space is limited! Participants will learn: •How the characteristics of ASD impact learning •What is ABA •How to teach children with ASD using fundamental behavioral strategies •The components of a teaching loop •How to collect and analyze data •Strategies for promoting communication, •Strategies for implementing DTT, •Strategies for implementing naturalistic ABA approaches •About resources available for those working with children with ASD Day 1 only option: Participants may choose to attend only day 1 of ABA Boot Camp. Day 1 will be an introductory training specifically designed for professionals working with children with ASD. The training will begin with an overview of ASD including core symptoms, strengths, and challenges. How ASD symptoms impact learning and behavior will also be discussed. Next, an introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) will be presented including what it is, an overview of different ABA approaches, and basic behavioral principles used in this therapeutic approach. Finally, additional behavioral support strategies such as reinforcement, punishment, and teaching loops will be discussed. Space is limited! REGISTRATION REQUIRED.
