The Preservation Green Lab based in Seattle is an innovative, ground-breaking research think tank that advocates for preservation and reuse to be included in sustainability and resilience planning in cities across the country. Their new research tool, The Atlas of ReUrbanism grew from an early study on the urban grain of neighborhoods done in conjunction with the Department of Architecture, is a complex, graphically and content-rich online tool that takes the massive amount of data available about the built environment of cities and provides a platform to explore the connections between buildings and various economic, social, and environmental outcomes. Whether you’re an architect, planner, historian, activist, journalist, developer, or resident, the Atlas of ReUrbanism contains detailed information about the businesses and residents, buildings and blocks in urban neighborhoods across the country. Twenty cities have been studied, and the PGL will present the newly launched maps of Seattle.
