The UW Future Faculty Fellows Workshop is a free 2-day program (June 12 & 13) that provides teaching, communication, and job-seeking skills to postdoctoral scientists training for academic careers in a biology-related discipline. The program is open to any postdoctoral fellow in his or her 2nd year or beyond from the UW and our affiliated research institutions: the FHCRC, ISB, SBRI, and Seattle Children’s. Workshop topics include: improving communication skills, strategies for improving science teaching at the undergraduate level, help with the job application and interview process, and developing strategies to get your career off to a good start in your new permanent position. Individuals who participate in the program will receive a workshop handbooks, as well as extensive information in digital form concerning teaching and lab management skills and job search strategies. The program includes catered breakfasts and lunch on both days, as well as a reception at the end of the final day. Applications will be accepted beginning April 10th and will be due by May 19th.
