Description | Reed Schuler, a former Climate negotiator for the Obama Administration will be making remarks on the future of the Paris Climate Agreement. Reed recently departed the U.S. Department of State, where he served under John Kerry on the Policy Planning Staff, the Secretary of State's policy and strategy office. He led the climate change, energy, environment, science and technology, health, and foreign assistance portfolios for Policy Planning, and chaired the State Department's task force on climate security and resilience. Previously at the Department of State, Reed served as a U.S. negotiator for the Paris Agreement on climate change. He managed the U.S. diplomatic effort to galvanize all countries in the world to submit ambitious climate action targets, and led the U.S. technical group to analyze these targets. He also served on the small team that negotiated the groundbreaking 2014 U.S.-China presidential announcement of the U.S. and Chinese climate targets. |
