Kym R. Ahrens, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor in Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital and Research Institute. Her research focuses on the use of mixed qualitative and quantitative methods to develop interventions to improve adult outcomes for adolescents and young adults exposed to significant health disparities. Current research focuses on improvement of physical, mental, and reproductive health outcomes in two populations: youth in foster care and youth who identify as transgender and gender non-conforming.
