Zakir Hussain is known in India and worldwide for his virtuosity in the fields of world music and percussion as a tabla player, percussionist, and composer. Widely considered a chief architect of the contemporary world music movement, he has been a part of many historic collaborations ranging across multiple genres, with artists such as John McLaughlin and L. Shankar, Mickey Hart, Airto Morera, George Harrison, Yo-Yo Ma, Giovanni Hidalgo, Sikiru Adepoju, Mark Morris, Rennie Harris, and many others. Antonia Minnecola is a dancer trained in Kathak, a north Indian classical dance genre in which narrative, mimetic, and rhythmic elements are combined. Trained by Sitara Devi, considered by many as the doyenne of Kathak in the 20 th century, Antonia has performed solo and in collaboration with other artists for several decades. Please RSVP here |
