CoMotion Labs presents, “Startup Finance 101” with Carlee Price Carlee Price spent 18 years in fiduciary roles on Wall Street, starting at Deutsche Bank Asset Management in Frankfurt and working her way from there to Toronto to the gilded streets of San Francisco. She has covered companies as large and complex as General Electric and was consistently ranked in the top quartile within teams of dozens of analysts. She was recruited to a partner-track role at an institutional fund manager in Seattle, WA where she caught the entrepreneurial bug. Carlee took on a founder’s role in the consumer products space in 2012 and ultimately found success on the other side of the table, as an Angel Investor & Advisor. Carlee has served as due diligence lead a dozen seed-stage deals and understands from both sides the risk and rewards of the entrepreneur’s journey. She is a featured speaker and panelist on Angel and Investing topics, and is a frequent pitch competition judge. She is a CFA charterholder, has completed Data Science coursework at the Master’s level at UC Berkeley and is an avowed numbers nerd. Each Fundamentals for Startups session will have a topic and an area expert providing key insights and knowledge regarding the topic in a 40 minute seminar format followed by a Q&A session. All seminars will be video captured and live streamed. Light refreshments will be served. These sessions are open to the public and you do not have to be currently affiliated with UW or a startup to join. At 1:00 pm, after the main presentation, CoMotion Labs and the UW Entrepreneurial Law Clinic present, “Patent 101” with Jake Gober and Eric Shreiner. The Entrepreneurial Law Clinic (ELC) is an innovative clinic serving entrepreneurs throughout the Pacific Northwest. The ELC teams law and business students with pro bono attorneys and business advisors. Together they provide critical early stage legal and business counseling to technology entrepreneurs, small business owners, social entrepreneurs, nonprofits and University of Washington and Institute for Translational Health Sciences faculty researchers.
