Please join the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering for a book release party celebrating the fourth installment in a series of comic books produced by HCDE students. The theme of this year's book is technology and environmental sustainability. Refreshments will be provided. Can comics help us think and talk about complex science and engineering challenges like sustainability? Students at the University of Washington working with the Department of Human Centered Design & Engineering (HCDE) believe that they can. With the help of comic artists Jeremy Kayes [The Indies, OverJoyed] and HCDE Professor Charlotte P. Lee [Don’t Anymore], thirteen University of Washington students learned to use sequential art and wrote stories about the relationship between technology, sustainability, and design. Each artist brings their own perspective, takes their own approach, and exhibits their own unique drawing style. |
