Description | This event is organized by Students Explore Aquatic Science (SEAS) out reach group, and hosted at the UW School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences. Are you inspired by watery worlds? Do you like discovery and exploration? Have you ever wondered what an aquatic scientist does all day? Come join us for a family-friendly afternoon of hands-on learning at our UW Aquatic Science Open House, a celebration of work and research that relates to water. We will have tours of real working science labs at the UW, and tours of the UW Fish Collection. We will also have booths led by current UW students, staff, and faculty across the College of the Environment (including from the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences and the School of Marine and Environmental Affairs), and by organizations from the greater Seattle area, which will give you an opportunity to get your hands wet and learn about the aquatic science happening right here in Seattle — covering everything from freshwater to oceans, and microscopic microbes to whales, and everything in between!
