| | Description | Andrew Kim will share advice and his story on transitioning from student to full-time employment with an Asian language degree. Topics will include the value of teaching programs like JET, the process of job hunting, what companies look for in multilingual candidates, and advancing your career. Andrew received his B.A. in Japanese Linguistics from the University of Washington. After three years as an assistant language teacher in the JET Program he returned to Seattle and landed a position at Microsoft with his Japanese language skills as the first bilingual support engineer for a product now called Office 365. Andrew continues at Microsoft after 9-years and after 5-years of not working with his Japanese language skills is back utilizing them and helping large Japanese corporations in his new role with the Office product group as a senior engineer for a new product called Workplace Analytics: https://products.office.com/en-us/business/workplace-analytics. |
