IEEE Women in Engineering is one of the largest international professional organizations dedicated to promoting women engineers and scientists around the world to follow their academic interests to a career in engineering. We started our official chapter of Women in Engineering at University of Washington this year. With the help of the Electrical Engineering department and IEEE society, we are hosting our First General Meeting. We will meet for a social gathering and have a roundtable discussion about the different challenges Women in Engineering face and how we could learn from each other to build a positive experience in school and beyond. This will be followed by a panel discussion on the learnings from Grace Hopper Celebration from attendees who received different scholarships. To stay connected with the Women in Engineering community at UW, use http://bit.ly/2ywY1t7 to be a part of the Slack channel. This will also help with staying informed about events, scholarship opportunities and the EE community in general. |
