Please join us for a tree and shrub planting volunteer event in Yesler Swamp this Sunday, February 19th from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please RSVP to Fred Hoffer at fhoffer@gmail.com if you are planning to attend! What to bring: Please bring sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty/muddy (always prepare for rain), in addition to a water bottle and a snack. Dressing in layers is strongly recommended. Tools and gloves are provided, but please feel free to bring your own favorite tool if you have one (or many)! No experience is required to participate, and volunteers will be educated on how to safely use all tools. Bringing water is essential to avoid dehydration. Access to water fountains and restrooms is dependent on the Center for Urban Horticulture buildings being open, and they are often closed on weekends. Where to meet: Volunteers should meet Fred Hoffer at the Yesler Swamp trail sign at the eastern Center for Urban Horticulture parking lot (3501 NE 41st Street) at 10:00 am. Map attached for reference. If arriving later than 10:00 am, please take a walk on the newly constructed boardwalk until you find us! If you arrive at the Center for Urban Horticulture and are confused, please don't hesitate to give Fred a call at 206-422-1331. |
