Hokulani Aikau (University of Hawai'i), Chad Allen (University of Washington), and Vince Diaz (University of Minnesota) speak on the place of Oceania, Pacific Islander, and Native American Studies in the University. This event is part of the Summer Institute on Global Indigeneities, a pilot program for what we hope will be an annual meeting of junior and senior scholars in the interdisciplinary and global field of Indigenous and Native Studies.

Hosted on the traditional homelands and waters of the Duwamish, Suquamish, Muckleshoot, Tulalip, and other Coast Salish peoples, the institute is the product of ongoing conversations and collaborations among scholars. It offers a week of workshops, lectures, and collaborative learning activities for PhD students and faculty members from member universities of the SIGI consortium.
