Description | Vladimir Rudak is a filmmaker, musician, and disability advocate. His newest work in film, Pineapple, tells the story of Gena, a wheelchair user who secretly has regained the ability to walk, but prefers to remain an “invalid” in social life – until he falls in love. Like Rudak’s previous feature film work (Tough Guys Don’t Dance), the film offers a critique of the social perception of people with disabilities, and offers an irreverent, charming, and quirky comical take on the idiosyncracies of daily life in today’s Russia. The film will be presented in Russian with English subtitles. Following the screening, there will be a Q&A with Rudak. |
