Description | The Stroum Center is excited to announce a new series of public presentations by our Graduate Fellows. Once per quarter, we'll offer a lunchtime seminar featuring 1-2 fellows and a faculty respondent. Our Autumn Quarter presenter is Zachary Tavlin, a PhD candidate in the UW English Department, who is this year's Richard M. Willner Memorial Scholar. Zachary will discuss the connections between Spinoza's philosophy and Borges' literature in a paper entitled "Polishing Crystals in the Twilight: Spinoza, Borges, and the Literary Imagination.” Prof. Michael Rosenthal of the UW Department of Philosophy will moderate. Vegetarian lunch will be served. RSVP is requested. For more information, visit jewishstudies.washington.edu… or call the Stroum Center at (206) 543-0138. |
