Join us for a guest lecture on: Stereotyping in tourism discourse Thursday, December 8, 3:30pm Padelford A-216 by visiting scholar Professor Vesna Mikolič, University of the Adriatic Littoral (Univerza na Primorskem), Koper, Slovenia. The lecture will be in English. A native of Koper (Capo d’Istria), Vesna Mikolič received her PhD in Linguistics from the University of Ljubljana with a dissertation titled Language as an expression of ethnic consciousness in the nationally heterogeneous region of Slovenian Istria. At the University of the Adriatic Littoral she serves as Chair of the Institute of Linguistic Studies. She is the author of over 200 published articles and conference presentations on topics including language and culture, language and ethnic identity, bilingualism, intercultural communication, and discourse analysis in science, literature and tourism.
