Description | Please join the Classics, Medieval, and Early Modern Studies Graduate Research Cluster for our first public lecture of the Winter 2017 quarter. Professor Odai Johnson (UW, Drama) will be delivering a talk titled "The Missing Years: Broken Archives and the Sublime." Professor Jonson is a professor of theater history and head of the UW Theater History PhD program. He is the author of numerous books and articles on Restoration and Colonial American theater, including Absence and Memory in Colonial American Theatre (Palgrave Macmillan, 2006) and Rehearsing the Revolution: Radical Performance, Radical Politics in the English Restoration (U of Delaware Press, 2000). His current book project, which focuses on classical theater, is titled Ruins: Classical Theatre and the Archaeology of Memory. |
