Linh Nguyễn is a lecturer at the University of California, San Diego in Ethnic Studies and the Dimensions of Culture Writing Program at Thurgood Marshall College. She specializes in Asian American cultural studies, immigration and refugee studies and US militarism and race. Her research explores the relationships between race, war, migration and family. Her book manuscript “Contested Terrains: Family, Intimacy, and War Memories” examines the Vietnamese refugee family as a critical site for competing histories and memories of the Vietnam War by juxtaposing mainstream narratives of the war with those of the second-generation. She is also involved in community advocacy around immigration and refugees and integrating community engagement in her teaching. She received her PhD in Ethnic Studies at the University of California, San Diego in 2016. |
