Graduate students and faculty from Classics, Drama, East Asian Languages, English, Germanics, History, Italian, and Spanish and Portuguese as well as librarians from Special Collections have come together to host a pre-modern fair in the Allen Research Commons. Among other things, you are invited to learn more about Athenian democracy and ancient Roman love spells! Check out medieval manuscripts, try your hand as a scribe, and learn to read medieval handwriting! Discover more about early modern book production while making your own folios and quartos and learn about Richard III in order to help solve the mystery of the Princes in the Tower! Learn to speak English like Geoffrey Chaucer did and find out which pilgrim you are most like! Explore the literary and visual depictions of minorities in Spain and Portugal in Early Modernity! Brush up on your Old High German in order to work some magic! This event is free and open to the public!
