Description | Moto Hagio is a legendary manga artist, founding member of the Year 24 Group and author of such titles as They Were Eleven, The Heart of Thomas, and Otherworld Barbara. She has received the Japan SF Grand Prize, the Tezuka Cultural Prize, and the Comic-Con Inkpot Award. In 2012, she was the first female manga creator to receive the Japanese Medal of Honor. In this event Hagio will introduce her experiences and her work in conversation with her colleague, Dr. Hiroko Uchiyama, and will take questions from the audience. The Henry Art Gallery is located at 4100 15th Ave NE. Parking is available nearby for a fee in the UW Central Plaza Garage (entrance at 15th Ave & 41st St NE). |
