The next Slavic Grad Colloquium is being held at 2:30 pm on Friday, November 17 in the Slavic Conference Room (PDL 216). We will be having a talk given by guest speaker Professor Motoki Nomachi from the Slavic Eurasian Research Center at Hokkaido University entitled "Can the Gorani language be planned? The latest sociolinguistic developments in the Gorani community of the former Yugoslavia" Dr. Motoki Nomachi is a professor in the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center at Hokkaido University (Sapporo, Japan). His major interest lie in the grammatical typology of Slavic languages, language contact and grammatical change (especially in the Balkan linguistic area), and language and identity issues (with the special focus on Slavic micro-literary languages). |
