Description | ART of Survival, a free public arts event at City Hall showcasing Cambodian American film, spoken word, dance, poetry, photography, and song. The audio visual installation, Age of the Kampuchea Picture, that Jenna Grant (Anthropology) made with Adrian Alarilla (Southeast Asian Studies) and Judith Henchy (Libraries) will be screening. This is the second in a series of Cambodian American community events. The first, Remembering the Past, Welcoming the Future, was held in 2015 to reflect on the 40th anniversary of the Cambodian Genocide. ART of Survival, will showcase Cambodian Americans who have held onto their identity through the trauma of war and resettlement through art. This event is free and open to the public. Kid friendly!
