Would you like to improve your golf swing? Learn how from UW physical therapists who are Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) certified. Everyone from amateur to elite golfers will gain valuable information on injury prevention and enhancing performance. The training session will emphasize common swing characteristics and how physical limitations can influence the golf swing. The training session is free but one bucket of balls costs $5.75 at the range. Therapists will offer form screens and will be available to answer questions. Instructor Bios: Joshua Gellert obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from New York University and is a board certified sports specialist. As a physical therapist in the Sports Medicine Center at the UW’s Stadium Clinic, his focus lies in post-operative rehabilitation of injured athletes, sports trauma cases, and adolescent sports injuries. Joshua is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Level 2 Medical Professional, has developed the Golfers Injury Prevention Clinic at UW-SMC, is working to help standardize post-surgical protocols, and lectured in the Stadium Clinic’s PT Grand Rounds. He is also an outdoor enthusiast, avid traveler, and enjoys the infinite variety of incredible food and culture that are such a part of Seattle. Aaron Kingsland, DPT, SCS, TPI C Aaron is a physical therapist with specialty training in the care of the injured or post-operative athlete. He obtained his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Pacific University in Oregon in 2002. He then completed a post professional sports clinical residency program and is a Board Certified Sports Specialist. As a Physical Therapist 3 in the Sports Medicine Center at the University of Washington’s Stadium Clinic, his clinical focus lies in post-operative rehabilitation of injured athletes with a particular interest in rehab of the shoulder, throwing/overhead athletes, and golfers. Aaron is also a certified Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Professional Phillip Higgins, DPT, TPIC Phillip Higgins is a physical therapist with an emphasis in rehabilitation of the injured or post-operative athlete both adult and adolescent. Phillip earned his bachelors of Science degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California and his doctoral degree in physical therapy from New York University. Upon graduating from New York University, Phillip began his career at a high paced private sports oriented orthopedic clinic in Midtown Manhattan. During his time in New York he treated worked with a variety of athletes and performers spanning from High school to professional In November Phillip moved to the Pacific Northwest to become a member of the team at the Sports Medicine Center at the University of Washington’s Stadium Clinic. Phillip is a certified Titleist Performance Institute Level 1 Professional and Graston Technique Certified Professional. He is an avid golfer and ice hockey player who enjoys incorporating his personal experiences with his clinical knowledge to improve patient outcomes. |
