On Monday, August 21 2017, millions of people in North America will be able to see a beautiful partial or total solar eclipse! Join us for a special seminar and leave with tools and tips to help you and your family enjoy the solar eclipse. Alice Few, data analyst at UW Tacoma’s Office of Institutional Research and Planning, member of the Tacoma Astronomical Society and 2017 Astronomy in Chile Educational Ambassador, will guide us through how eclipses work, help us create tools to view the eclipse safely, and provide a preview of what the eclipse might look like the morning of August 21. Let's get ready for this once in a lifetime event! All registered participants will receive free solar eclipse glasses; additional eclipse glasses will be available for $2 each. |
