| Description | Tai Chi is an ideal aerobic exercise for any age and can be practiced for a lifetime. Tai Chi helps maintains spine health and increases bone density. It is beneficial to the cardiovascular, respiratory, nervous, and digestive systems, while also improving balance and the circulation of chi, an energy force that underlies traditional Chinese medicine and martial arts. The Whole U has partnered with the Confucius Institute of the State of Washington (UW) to offer a free Chen Style Tai Chi class in the Winter quarter, 2018. At noon, the class session will cover authentic Chen Style Tai Chi Silk Reeling and Qigong warm-ups, emphasizing self-centering, body relaxation, and slow breathing techniques as you practice form movements. Increased flexibility, leg strength, coordination, and balance can be expected along with learning relaxation skills in an energetic way. |
