Do you find yourself wandering campus, curious about the history of its gorgeous architecture? Step out of your office this Spring and into 100 years of UW history with a one-hour brown-bag “lunch-and-learn” presentation. After the slide-show, we’ll get our legs moving and embark on a guided one-hour walking tour of the UW Seattle upper campus. We’ll see Denny Hall and the Quad, marvel at the beauty of French Renaissance Revival, and compare the medieval charm of Collegiate Gothic with French cathedrals. We’ll then explore the richness of Beaux-Arts and the brutal concrete of Brutalism and take a few moments to admire the Suzzallo façade sculptures. This tour is a one hour seminar from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by the one hour walking tour from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. |
